Senior Database Reliability Engineer & Architect (Remote)

About the role

CloudLinux is looking for a senior engineer to lead the evolution of its data platform toward an internal Database‑as‑a‑Service model. You will design resilient distributed systems, automate infrastructure, and turn databases into reliable services for product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a self‑service DBaaS platform using Terraform and Ansible for HA clusters (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, Redis) across bare‑metal, OpenNebula, Kubernetes and public clouds.
• Scale and optimise ClickHouse analytics clusters, handling sharding, engine tuning and high‑load S3 backup pipelines.
• Maintain and scale Apache Airflow and Redash infrastructure, ensuring reliable ETL pipelines and visualisation tools.
• Introduce SRE practices, automated self‑healing, and define SLO/SLI for all databases.
• Lead migration from legacy solutions to modern cloud patterns, including Kubernetes operators for stateful workloads.

Required profile

• 5+ years deep PostgreSQL expertise (MVCC, Patroni, PgBouncer, major upgrades).
• Extensive experience operating large ClickHouse clusters (sharding, replication, ZooKeeper/ClickHouse Keeper).
• Strong SRE/DevOps mindset with automation skills in Terraform, Ansible and programming (Python or Go).
• Hands‑on experience in hybrid environments (bare‑metal, Kubernetes, public clouds) and performance optimisation of storage subsystems.
• Upper‑intermediate English and a systems‑wide view of security, DR and audit requirements.
