Platform Engineer (remote work)

About the role

Join CloudLinux's Automation & Management Services cell as a Platform Engineer, working remotely to own and improve a set of platform services. You will ensure reliability, automate operations, and support product teams across observability, GitLab, CI runners, and other engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Run and maintain the observability platform, monitoring cost, capacity, and alerting.
• Manage GitLab and CI runner fleet: upgrades, capacity planning, backups, and restore drills.
• Deploy new services from design to production as code, with monitoring and documentation.
• Handle developer requests, create self‑service solutions, and maintain runbooks and onboarding guides.
• Respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in infrastructure, platform or SRE roles with ownership of production services.
• Strong Linux systems administration on bare metal and virtual machines.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with product teams and drive consensus.
• Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and own outcomes.

• Ansible and Terraform/OpenTofu
• GitLab administration and CI pipelines
• Prometheus and Grafana (alert rules, dashboards, PromQL)
• Python or Go for exporters and small services
• Advanced use of AI assistants (Claude, Codex) for automation
