Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Level 4 Support)

About the role

UltaHost is a global web‑hosting provider operating fully remotely. We are expanding our platform and need a senior engineer who can design, operate, and scale the networking, virtualization, and storage layers that power our cloud VPS services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage scalable cloud VPS infrastructure across multiple data centers.
• Build and operate Proxmox clusters, ensuring high availability, performance and stability.
• Support additional virtualization platforms such as KVM/QEMU, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper‑V, OpenStack, oVirt/RHV, Xen, LXD/LXC and Virtuozzo.
• Implement resource planning, capacity forecasting and performance optimisation for all virtualization stacks.
• Install, manage and optimise Ceph clusters (MON/OSD/MGR/RGW) and develop backup/snapshot strategies.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot Juniper switching/routing hardware, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRRP) and network performance.
• Manage firewalls, VPNs, ACLs and other security controls, applying hardening and incident‑response best practices.
• Maintain Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Server environments, web‑server stacks (Nginx, Apache, LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed) and related services.
• Build monitoring, alerting and observability pipelines to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience operating large‑scale virtualization and storage environments.
• Strong background in network engineering, especially with Juniper gear and routing protocols.
• Proven ability to automate processes and improve platform reliability.
• Self‑motivated builder‑operator comfortable working fully remote.
