Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will help convert legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go or .NET applications on GCP, working fully remote with a global consulting team.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead the re‑architecture of legacy and mainframe‑class systems into modern cloud platforms.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to understand business criticality and communicate modernization strategies.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy systems into Java, Go or .NET.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and data pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
