Senior C++ Developer (Cross‑Platform Agent)

About the role

Action1 is looking for an experienced Senior C++ Developer to lead the design and implementation of a cross‑platform endpoint agent that runs on Windows, Linux and macOS. The agent is a core component of Action1’s autonomous endpoint management platform, handling patching workflows, system data collection and policy enforcement while communicating securely with the cloud backend.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a high‑performance, secure agent in modern C++ (C++17 or later) for Windows, Linux and macOS.
• Integrate with OS‑level APIs for patching, system information gathering and task execution.
• Optimize agent performance across diverse deployment scenarios and hardware configurations.
• Implement robust, encrypted communication with the cloud backend using appropriate protocols.
• Stay up‑to‑date with system security best practices and OS updates that affect agent behavior.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work independently.
• Proven experience in system‑level programming on at least two of Windows, Linux, macOS.
• Experience delivering production‑ready software in heterogeneous environments.
• Ability to collaborate with a high‑caliber engineering team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ (C++17 or newer) and cross‑platform development.
• Multithreading and asynchronous programming.
• Network programming (sockets, REST, HTTP/HTTPS).
• Version control with Git and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• OpenSSL or other secure communication libraries (certificate handling).
• Cross‑platform build systems such as CMake.
• Scripting with Bash and PowerShell.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
