Cluster Director, Engineering

About the role

The Cluster Director, Engineering is responsible for the overall maintenance of hotel buildings, assets, infrastructure, hard‑scape and soft‑scape components across two properties in Montenegro. Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, the role leads the engineering team to ensure technical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage the engineering team, providing effective solutions to technical issues.
• Plan and implement strategies across all technical disciplines, studying asset performance and recommending improvements.
• Own fire life‑safety systems, ensuring functionality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead key projects that optimise service performance and operational efficiency.
• Develop, monitor and enforce local legal regulations, standards and applicable legislation.
• Create and manage preventive‑maintenance programmes and submit proposals for upgrades.
• Produce and control budgets, allocate resources according to departmental priorities.
• Oversee maintenance contracts, contractor activities and CAPEX project planning.
• Coach, counsel and assess employee performance, identifying training needs.
• Maintain effective communication with the Cluster General Manager and all staff levels, ensuring timely reporting and issue resolution.

Required profile

• A suitable technical qualification to degree level.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Excellent managerial and leadership capabilities.
• Strong technical background, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Outstanding customer‑service skills for interaction with guests, employees and external parties.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Computer literate.
