Accountant – Luxury Resort

About the role

Mamula Island by Banyan Tree, a luxury resort on a 19th-century fortress island at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, is looking for an Accountant. The role manages the finances of the resort, combining accuracy with the pace of a busy hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record incoming and outgoing invoices according to internal procedures and accounting standards
• Enter all financial transactions in the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial documentation before data entry
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial and accounting records and archive documentation
• Assist in preparing and processing invoices, payment orders and other financial documents
• Support account reconciliation with suppliers and customers, and help with monthly and periodic financial closing
• Support accounts payable and receivable, including recording payments and tracking due dates
• Prepare basic financial reports and summaries as required
• Collaborate with the finance team on internal controls and with other departments on financial matters

Required profile

• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping or financial administration; hospitality experience preferred
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and bookkeeping procedures
• Knowledge of tax regulations and financial compliance requirements
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
• Good organisational and time-management skills, and good communication skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel
