Budget/Accounting Assistant in Cooperation Section

About the role

The EU Delegation to Montenegro seeks a Budget/Accounting Assistant (Group II) for its Cooperation Section. The role is a fixed‑term position of two years, supporting the Head of Cooperation Section in ensuring legality and regularity of financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate, prepare and review financial transactions, including budgetary commitments, contracts, pre‑financing, payments and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with EU financial regulations, procurement rules and contractual procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statistics and audit documentation.
• Support procurement processes, tender evaluations and contract management for both direct and indirect programmes.
• Maintain proper archiving, filing and document management in corporate IT systems.

Required profile

• Higher education qualification (university degree or equivalent) in economics, accounting or related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in budget, finance or contract administration.
• Montenegrin nationality or valid residence/work permit.
• Fluent English (C1 level) and strong knowledge of EU financial regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with relevant IT tools (e.g., CRIS, OPSYS, SUMMA).
