Cluster Director, Security

About the role

Kerzner is looking for a Cluster Director, Security to oversee two resort properties in Montenegro. The role provides a safe and secure environment for colleagues and guests and protects the resort's assets. It reports to the Cluster General Manager with a dotted line to the Hotel Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop safe method work statements for departmental practices and maintain a security team, developing its members.
• Oversee and run regular fire drills and a fire drill and training programme aligned with the Resort Incident Management System, including training firefighting teams and colleagues with a certified fire safety trainer.
• Ensure daily patrols of guests and colleagues and enforce the resort's security policy.
• Monitor associate movements, ensure hotel policies on leaving the hotel and on bag checks, package passes and contractor/visitor passes are followed, and carry out security searches of associate rooms in the presence of HR.
• Follow the Fire & Safety policy, report non-compliance, and take part in fire systems training.
• Perform daily checks on fire systems, help maintain and upgrade them, and develop preventative maintenance schedules.
• Maintain good relations with local police and investigators, and liaise regularly with external security.
• Take overall control of the CCTV system.

Required profile

• 5 years in the same or a similarly relevant role, with examples of similar roles.
• Professional qualification from a recognised institute and minimum higher secondary education.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop colleagues, resolve conflicts and stay calm in a crisis.
• Strong understanding of local and Kerzner laws, regulations and policies on resort safety and security.
• Must speak, read, write and understand the primary workplace languages.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge and trained use of all firefighting equipment.
• Radio communication skills and computer skills.
• Generating and understanding preventative maintenance schedules.
