Staff Engineer – Remote

About the role

The Staff Engineer will combine deep technical execution with product ownership for TuxCare's KernelCare and SecureChain solutions. Approximately 70% of the time will be hands‑on software engineering and 30% product ownership, leading major components from concept to production while ensuring reliability and security.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end product components and workstreams, from requirement clarification to delivery.
• Define milestones, design scalable solutions, and write production‑grade code.
• Deliver new functionality to customers and maintain its reliability in production environments.
• Evaluate and improve existing workflows, building automation and high‑reliability systems.
• Leverage AI to analyze data, support decision‑making, and enhance operational visibility.
• Operate autonomously as an individual contributor without direct people‑management responsibilities.

Required profile

• Strong background in software engineering, preferably with experience in Linux kernel or similar low‑level systems.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive complex initiatives, and work independently.
• Curiosity and adaptability with a broad interest in cybersecurity and open‑source ecosystems.
