Senior Database Reliability Engineer & Architect (Remote)

About the role

CloudLinux is looking for a senior engineer to lead the evolution of its data platform toward an internal Database‑as‑a‑Service (DBaaS) model. You will design resilient, self‑service data infrastructure, automate operations, and turn databases into reliable services for product teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a self‑service DBaaS platform using Terraform and Ansible for HA clusters (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, Redis) across bare‑metal, OpenNebula, Kubernetes and public clouds.
• Scale ClickHouse analytics clusters, manage sharding, optimize ReplicatedMergeTree tables, and build high‑throughput S3 backup pipelines.
• Maintain and expand Apache Airflow and Redash infrastructure, ensuring reliable ETL pipelines and data visualisation.
• Introduce SRE practices for data services, replace manual incident response with automated self‑healing, and define SLO/SLI for all databases.
• Lead migration from legacy solutions to modern cloud patterns, including Kubernetes operators for stateful workloads.
• Act as technical authority, mentoring product teams on schema design and high‑load SQL query optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating large‑scale, distributed database systems.
• Strong background in infrastructure‑as‑code, automation and cloud‑native patterns.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into reliable, production‑grade services.
