About the role

The Dryer Operator is a key member of the laundry team at a luxury hotel, responsible for operating and maintaining commercial drying equipment to deliver high‑quality, efficiently dried laundry items.

Key responsibilities

• Operate commercial drying machines, setting appropriate temperatures, times and load capacities for various fabrics.
• Monitor drying cycles to ensure items reach specified moisture levels and inspect finished loads for quality.
• Load and unload dryers safely, handling items up to 50 lb and preventing damage.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning lint traps, checking vents and reporting any mechanical issues.
• Apply appropriate cleaning agents during the drying process, ensuring safe treatment of fabrics.
• Adjust settings for different fabric types to maximize efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
• Record drying cycle data, including load size, time and any problems encountered.
• Collaborate with washers, sorters and attendants to maintain a smooth workflow.
