Development Manager – Configuration Management

About the role

Action1 is seeking a Development Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for endpoint configuration management capabilities. You will blend engineering leadership with hands‑on technical expertise to help customers define, apply, and maintain desired configurations across their environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring and regular feedback.
• Own delivery outcomes within scope, produce practical estimates and make capacity and priority trade‑offs visible.
• Collaborate with Product Management and senior leadership to define priorities and translate customer needs into actionable features.
• Oversee design, development and maintenance of configuration management features such as policies, templates, baseline assessments, drift detection, staged roll‑outs and audit trails.
• Guide technical decisions from solution design through production rollout, coordinating cross‑cutting architecture and security considerations.
• Define metrics, reporting periods and data freshness standards to ensure accurate customer reporting.
• Coordinate with product and core engineering teams on data sources, access controls and shared infrastructure.
• Own automated CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, validating and deploying reporting services.
• Apply AI technologies where they improve development efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineers and owning delivery and operation of production systems.
• Strong hands‑on technical expertise in endpoint configuration management.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications and executive reporting capabilities.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Configuration management for endpoints, including policy creation, baseline assessment and drift remediation.
• Application of AI technologies to enhance development processes.
