Engineering Manager – Language Security (Remote)

About the role

TuxCare is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Language Security Research function. You will oversee four specialized teams delivering security patches for a wide range of open‑source language runtimes and frameworks, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop four teams (Java, JavaScript/Go, Python, PHP) totaling 18 engineers.
• Build a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Define hiring plans, conduct performance reviews, and drive career development.
• Manage onboarding, project ramp‑up, and integration of new libraries.
• Set and enforce standards for CVE analysis, vulnerability assessment, patch backporting, and security release processes.
• Drive consistency in tooling and CI/CD pipelines across all language ecosystems.
• Evaluate AI‑assisted automation for backporting and vulnerability discovery.
• Serve as the final escalation point for complex cross‑team security issues.
• Own SLA compliance and align team efforts with client expectations.
• Coordinate documentation and ensure smooth collaboration with OS, Docker, and platform teams.

Required profile

• Strong background in software development across multiple language ecosystems.
• At least 6 years of hands‑on engineering experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Solid experience with Java and other major programming languages.
