Project Coordinator – International Migration Projects

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Coordinator in Podgorica to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of migration‑related projects. Working under the National Projects Officer and closely with the Chief of Mission, you will ensure activities comply with IOM policies, donor requirements and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor assigned project activities, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
• Liaise with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners to facilitate project implementation.
• Prepare and submit regular progress and financial reports in line with donor and IOM standards.
• Support the planning, execution and evaluation of EU‑funded initiatives.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with financial rules and regulations.

Required profile

• School diploma with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field with four years of experience.
• Proven experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
• Experience collaborating with governmental bodies, UN agencies and NGOs; experience in EU‑funded projects is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Montenegrin (oral and written).

Required skills

• Report drafting and analytical writing.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and internet research.
• Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
• Knowledge of financial rules and regulations governing international projects.
